NBC Studios

NBC began in 1926 as a radio network. With the invention of television, NBC was in the forefront and began experimenting with telecasts as early as 1932. In 1939, NBC televised the opening ceremonies of the New York World's Fair.

Milton Berle launched 'Texaco Star Theater' in 1948 and it was so successful that NBC signed him to a lifetime contract for "putting television on the map". For the first time, NBC aired it's entire production schedule in color. The year was 1965.

Over the years NBC has brought us such classic series as 'Bonanza', 'Rowan & Martin's Laugh In', 'Cheers', 'Seinfeld' 'Saturday Night Live' and 'ER'.

After 'The Tonight Show' moved back to New York, NBC Studios in Burbank closed down and became "The Burbank Studios".
